Highs:
- My new Brother CS6000I arrived on today. I've been sewing on a VERY basic (and abused) machine for years, but now is not the time for me to be making a major purchase. So the CS6000I seemed like the perfect balance of value and function for me. I can't wait to dive in and take it for a spin. I'll post a full review once I get a chance to wear it in.
- Our first daffodil finally decided to open! They seem to be a little sluggish this year. Maybe it was this long, frigid winter we had. It looks like our tulips might be close behind as well.
- Rain. I love rain, and this week has been full or it so far.
- I have a new little tutorial to share soon. It's a super easy and inexpensive project for beginning quilters.
- If you haven't seen The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, please do yourself a favor and pick it up from the library or stream it online. It's beautiful and hilarious. It was a perfect mid-week treat for me.
- If the weather clears by the weekend we are planning to get some planting done. We cleared the brush from last year and turned the soil over this past weekend. We need to add a little manure and then the beds will be ready for seeds.
- I devoured the whole first season of Mr. Selfridge (free with Amazon Prime!) while cutting pieces for my Jitterbug Betty quilt this week. It is really helping fill the void that Downton Abby left.
- Logan might need some dental work. For now the vet is having us keep a close eye on the tooth in question, but if things progress he may be looking a little more pirate-like soon. Toothy or toothless, we will love him just the same.
- Internet negativity strikes. Perhaps some people just don't understand the lack of tone when you type. Or perhaps some people just don't think about how their words affect peoples days. I was already feeling a little off and now I'm just ready to call it a night.
- Spring means stink bugs and spiders in the house. On the upside, Logan and Finn love to hunt them (until the catch them and remember how awful they taste).
- I just can't get into my new book. I was really excited about it, but I think it's time for me to concede and take it back to the library. Maybe I'll try again when the weather is warmer and I can read in the sun.
