I have a finished quilt to share today! This one was made for my sister-in-law who is always chilly in the office and uses this ratty blanket that she has to stash in a cupboard whenever a guest is in the office because it's so ugly. I decided to make her a replacement she can be proud of.
Since I was in a rush, I stuck to an easy half square triangle pattern. She's not into color or feminine patterns so I used Kona Cotton Solids in Black and Steel and added Botanics Branches in Ash for some subtle pattern. For the backing I used Botanics Crosshatch in Black to tie the whole palette together. To keep it light and contemporary, I eliminated the trim by "birthing" the quilt. I machine quilted it with a quick diagonal in the opposite direction of the triangles.
I love the way it turned out! It's the perfect size for sitting in an office chair. She ended up loving it. Sometimes it's hard to give up something you have labored over, but when you see the joy and comfort it gives the recipient it makes it all worth it. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. Have a great afternoon!
This makes me wish I could sew, lol I love the simple pattern! :)

ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see! My "random" pattern wasn't random at all. It took me hours to get this looking exactly the way I wanted. Hah.
